Admire Barcelona from the heights surrounded by statues and flowers.
Taking advantage of the steep slope of the mountain, the park consists of a series of terraces arranged at different levels, connected by staircases. In its center, you will find a pond with an ornamental fountain designed by Carles Buïgas, the same architect of the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. Around it, there are various elements such as paths, flowerbeds, and resting areas.
A highlight is the curious 420 m² mosaic, designed by Joan Josep Tharrats, which decorates the ground. For its creation, original materials such as pebbles, cobblestones, bricks, bottle bottoms, iron pieces, and fragments of lids were used. Due to its artistic value, it is now part of the Catalog of Municipal Artistic Heritage.
If we walk through the Mirador de l'Alcalde park, we will also come across two sculptures: "Homenatge a Barcelona" (Homage to Barcelona) by sculptor Josep Maria Subirachs, and the popular "Sardana," a work by Josep Cañas, which is located right at the entrance, welcoming visitors.

For the curious
- This space was inaugurated in 1969 by the then-mayor Josep Maria Porcioles, to whom it is dedicated.
- Although the different levels of the park are connected by staircases, in some grassy flowerbeds, there are small paths that make this park completely accessible, allowing you to walk through it without having to climb any steps.
- If you want the best views of Barcelona, visit it early in the summer when the sky is clearest.
